Patricia Keane

Patricia "Patsy" Keane (née Kelly) passed away on April 12, 2024, in Riverhead, NY, at the age of 78. She was a beloved daughter, niece, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, cousin, and friend to many. Patsy was known for her loving and kind nature, always valuing family and close friendships. Her laughter and twinkling smile were a constant presence, and she made everyone feel welcome.

Patsy grew up in Brooklyn and spent summers in Sound Beach, where she raised her family and called home for most of her life. She retired from Mather Hospital after more than 20 years of service as a Nursing Assistant, touching many lives with her caring and compassionate nature.

She is survived by her four children: Patricia Reilly, Shawn Keane, Josephine Pohl, and Rosemary Laucella; her Aunt Mary McCarthy; Grandchildren: Caitlin Reilly, Conor Reilly, Ashley Rose Pohl, Kayleigh Ann Keane, Jake Pohl, Jack Laucella, Grace Laucella, Brook Pohl, and Hope Laucella; and Great-granddaughter, Charlotte Rose Riggsbee. She was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Josephine Kelly, and her brothers Gerry Kelly, Doris Kelly, James Kelly, Susan Kelly, and Bobby Kelly.

Patsy's hobbies included cooking (famous for her potato salad and Gram's Cake), reading, crocheting, QVC, and all of her flowers and plants she slowly killed all summer long. She was a member of St. Louis de Montfort Church in Sound Beach, NY.

Services for Patsy will be held at Bryant Funeral Home in East Setauket, NY, with visitation on Tuesday, April 16, from 2 - 4 pm and 7 - 9 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, April 17, at 10 am, followed by internment at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.

Patsy will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her love and kindness.
