Funeral Directors
Fred Bryant
Fred Bryant was born and raised in Port Jefferson. He received his degree in Mortuary Science from Farmingdale University. After he graduated, Fred joined the family business at the Bryant Funeral Home in Setauket, where he has worked for over 30 years. Fred, his family, and ancestors have been actively involved in this community for many generations.
Fred is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), the New York State Funeral Director Association (NYSFDA), Board Member of the Nassau-Suffolk Funeral Directors Association (NSFDA), Cremation Association of North America (CANA) and the Order of the Golden Rule Funeral Service (OGR), an organization exclusively for family owned and operated funeral homes, which promotes excellence in consumer service.
He serves on several other boards including the Three Village Meals on Wheels, the Emma S. Clark Memorial Library and the Three Village Historical Society. Fred is currently or has in the past served as an officer on each of these boards. He is on the board for the Parish Resource Center, which serves the churches of Long Island. Fred also serves on two local boards of historical cemeteries, Oak Hill Cemetery at Stony Brook and Cedar Hill Cemetery in Port Jefferson. Both of these cemeteries have been serving their communities for well over a century. Fred is also on the board of the Jefferson's Ferry Foundation.
Fred currently lives in East Setauket with his three children and his dog, Honey. Fred, Jr. is a graduate from the University of Richmond in May 2010 and will enter the army as a 2nd Lieutenant . Bonnie attends Lesley College in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Adam is a Ward Melville High School Graduate and works locally.

Arthur W. Bryant, Founder

Arthur is one of four sons born in the family home to Edwin Melville and Mildred Bryant in East Setauket. Shortly after graduation from Setauket High School, he served his country as a Sgt. in the Army Air Force, stationed in England.
After World War II, Arthur married Martha Curtis of Port Jefferson and built a home in Setauket, where they raised their three sons, Arthur Jr., Herbert, and Frederick. Art and Mart ran several successful area businesses.
In the 1960’s he earned his New York State funeral director’s license, achieving a lifelong dream. He was part-owner of another Long Island funeral home before starting the Bryant Funeral Home in Setauket.
Through his encouragement, his three sons entered the family business as licensed funeral directors themselves. Arthur has over 40 years of experience in his chosen field, and has held many positions in his community. He is a member of the Order of the Golden Rule Funeral Service (OGR).
His volunteerism includes his lifelong membership at the First United Methodist Church in Port Jefferson where he served many, many years as Sunday school superintendent. Arthur is proud to be a member of the Setauket Fire Department for over 70 years. He is also a member and past commander of American Legion Harbor Post 417 and the VFW.
Art and Mart were married for over 50 years and enjoyed traveling throughout the western states and especially loved Alaska, California and Mexico. Arthur enjoys his eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and was recently honored as the oldest active fireman in the Setauket Fire Department.
Herbert C. Bryant
Herbert C. Bryant was born and raised in Port Jefferson. He obtained his Associate of Applied Science Degree from Canton College and has been a Licensed Funeral Director since 1977. Herb owned and operated the Herbert C. Bryant Funeral Home, Inc. in Livingston Manor, NY from 1984 to 2003 and has over 30 years experience. Herb is married to his wife of over 30 years, Kathy. They have two daughters and a son.
Herb is a member of New York State Funeral Directors Association (NYSFDA), National Funeral Directors Association, (NFDA) Cremation Association of North America (CANA), Nassau-Suffolk and Orange-Rockland-Sullivan Funeral Directors Associations. He is also a member of the Order of the Golden Rule (OGR).
He is Past President & current Treasurer of the Livingston Manor Lions Club and a member since 1984. Herb is the Past Master of the Livingston Manor Lodge #791 Free and Accepted Masons, Patron of Sullivan Chapter #298 Order of the Eastern Star, and District Grand Lecturer 2005 & 2008. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Livingston Manor Methodist Church, the Livingston Manor Fire Department, an Honorary Member of the Port Jefferson Fire Department, and a member of the Stoney Lonesome Hunting Club and Catskill Mountain Archers. He currently serves as Superintendent of Orchard Street Cemetery, Lew Beach Cemetery and Beaverkill Cemetery and is a Trustee for Oak Hill Cemetery.

Kenneth J. Favara
Kenneth J. Favara was born in Commack and attended Commack High School South. He obtained his Associates Degree in Applied Science, Major Mortuary Science from Farmingdale University. He has worked with Bryant Funeral Home for 11 years and has been a Licensed Funeral Director for 26 years. Ken is married to his wife of 23 years, Linda, they have a daughter and their dog, Honey.
He is a member of the Order of the Golden Rule (ORG), an organization exclusively for family owned and operated funeral homes, which promotes excellence in consumer service, the Academy of Professional Funeral Service, New York State Funeral Directors Association, Nassau-Suffolk Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association.
Ken is also a 3rd Degree Knight of the St. Gerard Majella RC Knights of Columbus Council #7006, a member of Strathmore Court Homeowners Association, Parishioner of Infant Jesus RC Church, Port Jefferson, member of the Infant Jesus St. Joseph of Arimathea Society and former member of the Old Field Power Squadron and National Rifle Association.
He enjoys collecting coins, stamps, boating, fishing, and target shooting. He loves gatherings with family and friends. Ken and his wife, Linda, enjoy traveling on vacations. Ken is a frequent guest speaker at middle schools and local organizations about his profession.

Jessica Mastauskas
Jessica Mastauskas was born in Connecticut and raised in Setauket, New York. She is a graduate of Ward Melville High School. In 1994 she graduated from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida with an Associate Degree in Mortuary Science. She continued her studies at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management in 2001. Jessica is married to her high school sweetheart John, and they have two children and a golden retriever, Sidney.
Jessica is the sixth generation to work for her family’s business, Bailey Funeral Home in Plainville, Connecticut (1991-2003), where she started as secretary, then became a funeral director and manager from 2000-2003. She then moved to New York in 2003 and worked with Everest Funeral Service as a PrePlan Consultant from 2003 – 2005. She has over 14 years of experience and maintains her license in Connecticut.
Jessica is a member of the New York State Funeral Directors Association (NSFDA), National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA) Cremation Association of North America (CANA) Member of the Order of the Golden Rule (OGR). She also belongs to the Decision Women in Commerce Group
Jessica enjoys boating with her family and friends, walking on the beach, football games and reading. She enjoys visiting her family in Connecticut and every minute of watching her daughter and step- daughter as they grow up.

John N. Orlando, Jr.
John N. Orlando, Jr. was born in Rockville Center and raised in Bellport, Long Island. He is a graduate of Bellport High School. He obtained his Associates Degree in Applied Science in Major Mortuary Science from Nassau Community College in 2004.
John and his wife, Michele currently live in East Patchogue with their son, Jake. John is fourth generation to work in the Funeral Business. Prior to joining Bryant Funeral Home, he was employed for 10 years by his family business in Patchogue.
He is a member of the Nassau/Suffolk Funeral Directors Association (NSFDA). He is also a 10 year member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree, Council #725 as well as a 10 year member of the South Country Lions Club.
In his spare time John enjoys spending time with his wife and son, as well as boating, golfing and fishing.
