Special Services and Life Tributes

Every family is unique. We strive to make each service a personal tribute to the life that has been lived. We provide a wide variety of choices that will help fulfill a family's wishes, from a traditional funeral to a personalized service that celebrates a loved one's hobbies and interests.

Memorial Table & Photographic Collage

Assembling significant objects together is one way to help represent the life and memory of your cherished family member. Personal memorabilia, collections, photographs, military or professional items allow you to display the unique life your loved one has lived. We provide easels, frames, tables and garment display racks to assist you with this. All items are carefully returned to you after the funeral. We will provide magnetic frames and foam core boards to allow you to create a meaningful photographic collage as well.

Placing Items in the Casket

Many time a family member or close friend  wishes to place a meaningful object in the casket. Photographs, flowers, poetry, children’s drawings and letters are just a few items used in this way. Usually the items remain in the casket for burial, which is perfectly acceptable or may be returned to family members. We are happy to assist you with this at all times.

Memorial DVD Tribute

The Real to Reel Company works with Bryant Funeral Home to create a Memorial Tribute DVD to be played during visitation hours. Select approximately 40 meaningful photos representing your loved ones life, and 2 song choices. A company representative will help you plan any selections. A flat screen TV with DVD player will be provided by Bryant Funeral Home free of charge for your individual visitation room. The service fee to produce the DVD starts at $295.*

Live Musicians

Arrangements may be made to have an Organist or Harpist  play during visiting hours. We have a large selection of our own music available, and families are encouraged to bring in their own DVDs to play during visiting hours or to have a special song selection played at the funeral service. An additional fee is required for harpist or organist.

Children's Balloon Release

Bryant Funeral Home provides this service especially for the children attending the funeral. A balloon release can be performed at the funeral home, before or after the religious service, or as a final conclusion at the cemetery. This symbolic “releasing” or “letting go” is incorporated with a song written and sung by Paul Alexander, a noted grief therapist. *This service is provided especially for the children attending the funeral.

Traditional Bagpipers

Bryant Funeral Home and the Suffolk County Police Department Emerald Society can incorporate the use of bagpipes in the funeral service. Bagpipers are traditional for members of the Police and Fire Departments, but may be included for anyone. Bagpipes can be played at the funeral home, before and/or after church, and at the cemetery. The additional fee for the Bagpiper starts at $175.*

  Live Taps

As a tribute for our Veteran’s, Bryant Funeral Home is able to provide an experienced bugler to perform the traditional army song “taps” live on site. They will perform along with the military honor guard detail provided by the Veteran’s branch of service. One Bugler is $150 per service, two buglers echoing is $250 per service. *

Sympathy Flowers

Coordinating floral tributes including casket pieces, standing spray pieces, baskets and many unique options are available. Your funeral director may assist you in selecting a theme and with ordering flowers if you wish.

Birds of Love-Dove Release

For this service, Bryant Funeral Home in association with Bob Montana, birding enthusiast and breeder, will release white doves at the cemetery. Family members participate by holding and releasing a dove before or after the committal service. This symbolizes the spirit of “going home”. The doves will fly up and wing away returning to their home. The additional fee for the Dove release is $195.*

Participating in the Service

Family and friends can add personalization by participating in the funeral service. Special poetry or scripture may be read. A family member may wish to write an eulogy, play special music, or sing. Family and close friends may act as Pallbearers, and they can assist with placement of the Pall at church and with committal flowerscemetery.

Children's Play Area and Literature

A separate Children's Room is available for play or quiet time. We also have a variety of publications specifically designed to help you explain the meaning of a funeral and cope with those feelings of grief that a child may have with losing a family member for the first time.

Children’s Veterans Tribute

Bryant Funeral Home is proud of the men and women who served in the Armed Forces or Military for our country. Before leaving for the National Cemetery, a flag lowering ceremony will be performed by the children, and/or grandchildren as “Amazing Grace” is played.
